Prompt of the Week

Your best ad ideas may already be sitting in your call transcripts, CRM notes, search terms, and DMs.

Grab a handful of questions shoppers ask all the time, add what your store wants to move right now, and use this prompt to turn them into actual campaign ideas.

Act as an automotive advertising strategist for a car dealership.

I want to build a small AI advertising test around questions our customers are already asking.

CUSTOMER QUESTIONS
[PASTE 10 TO 20 REAL QUESTIONS FROM CALLS CHATS CRM NOTES SEARCH TERMS OR SOCIAL COMMENTS]

CURRENT PRIORITIES
[PASTE VEHICLES OFFERS SERVICE NEEDS TRADE GOALS OR OTHER BUSINESS PRIORITIES]

CONTENT WE ALREADY HAVE
[PASTE AVAILABLE PHOTOS WALK AROUNDS VIDEOS REVIEWS FAQS OFFERS OR OTHER CREATIVE]

Review the questions and identify the strongest advertising opportunities.

Build 3 campaign concepts. For each one, give me:

  • The customer question or need behind it

  • Where it fits in the buying journey

  • The best channel or ad environment for it

  • A strong creative angle

  • The existing content we can reuse

  • The next action we want the shopper to take

  • What should happen when AI hands the customer to our dealership

  • The one dealership outcome we should measure

Keep the ideas specific to automotive retail and realistic for a dealership marketing team.

Prioritize ideas that can be tested with content we already have.

Finish by recommending the ONE campaign you would test first, what you would need to launch it, and what we should learn from the first 30 days.

The nice part here is you are not asking AI to dream up another random dealership campaign from scratch. You are feeding it the questions customers are already raising their hands with and seeing where those conversations could become ads.

Your Voice. Your Pricing. Our AI Does the Talking. You're in Control

AutoHub's Acquisition Engine now puts conversational AI in your hands. When a repair order opens, Service Acquisitions texts the customer automatically: from opt-in to offer, AI-powers replies to customer questions and counteroffers while you retain complete control and visibility. You own every message: rewrite it, retime it, or turn it off.

AutoHub gives you that same control over pricing: set your own deductions for cosmetic, mechanical, and safety condition, add trade bonuses, and include custom offer types for in-demand models and trims. It's all white-labeled to your store and running across 1,600+ rooftops.

The AI Breakdown

AI Is Moving Further Into the Ad Funnel

AI is starting to shape both sides of advertising.

Shoppers are using AI to compare vehicles, research ownership costs, weigh trade-offs, and narrow their choices. Advertisers are getting AI tools that can reach those shoppers, build creative, qualify interest, and track what happens after the ad.

OpenAI and TikTok both pushed that further yesterday with two new press releases.

ChatGPT Wants the Research Moment

OpenAI is testing a new visual ad format in ChatGPT later this month, beginning during image generation. It is also expanding attribution, conversion tracking, and connections to the measurement systems advertisers already use.

A shopper asking ChatGPT about three-row SUVs, EV ownership, towing, trade values, maintenance costs, or lease versus finance is already working through a vehicle decision. ChatGPT gives advertisers a chance to enter that research before the shopper reaches a traditional search result or lead form.

OpenAI

The measurement is also getting more useful. ChatGPT Ads can take lead and conversion signals through Pixel and Conversions API, and OpenAI is measuring some actions that happen after an impression without a click. In an early analysis, 52.7% of eligible one-day view-through conversions happened within an hour of the ad impression.

That is much closer to how automotive shopping actually behaves than giving the last click all the credit.

TikTok Wants the Next Step

TikTok is working closer to the hand raise.

Its new Agentic Leads can have AI-guided conversations with prospects through TikTok DMs and lead experiences on advertiser websites, helping capture and qualify interest before the store takes over.

So, that walk-around, trade-value video, service explainer, or payment post has somewhere to go besides another view count.

TikTok

TikTok is also adding more AI to Search Ads and creative selection, including the ability to pull from a dealer's own assets, creator content, and AI-generated creative.

That gives good dealership content a longer shelf life and a much better chance of turning attention into an actual conversation.

TikTok

What This Means for Dealers

AI is increasingly sitting on both sides of the ad.

That raises the value of the things only the store can provide: accurate inventory, useful offers, strong creative, real customer questions, clean data, and a handoff that does not make the shopper start over.

Dealer Guide

  1. Give each channel a role. Decide where ChatGPT, TikTok, and future AI placements fit in the buying journey before assigning budget. Start small. Scale what proves useful.

  2. Build an AI-ready content library. Organize your best vehicle photos, walk-arounds, service videos, FAQs, offers, and reviews so your team can move quickly when new ad formats open up.

  3. Connect media to outcomes. Make sure your website, CRM, call tracking, lead forms, and reporting can tell you what happened after the impression. Track calls, appointments, showroom visits, repair orders, and sold vehicles.

  4. Give your agency a testing plan. Ask what they can access, what they are testing, what they have learned, and which dealership use cases are worth trying first.

  5. Watch the handoff. As AI handles more discovery and lead capture, make sure the customer lands in the right place with enough context when the dealership takes over.

Fresh Finds for Auto Pros

  • Service and Parts: Clearline
An AI workforce specifically for dealerships. Its agents answer calls, follow up with customers and book appointments, with service scheduling tied into dealership systems. Its newer PBS integration can bring vehicle info, service history and Workplan context directly into the AI conversation.

  • Marketing & Advertising: Torq
Automotive-specific AI agents that unify CRM, DMS, website and advertising data, build audiences, activate Meta/Google campaigns and engage leads. The interesting piece is the closed loop: campaign outcomes feed back into the system so its targeting can improve.

  • Content Creation: Zawa
Launched its newer AI Social Media Post Generator in May. Give it a product photo and it can generate on-brand campaign concepts and finished social assets while applying the company’s visual identity automatically.

Hear from the Experts

AI can handle more work, but at the end of the day, the dealership still runs on people.

Our pal David Kain sat down with Alex Perdikis of Koons Motors for a conversation about where AI actually belongs in retail automotive. They get into using technology to scale repetitive work, giving employees more room to focus on customers, and why the human relationship still carries the deal.

This is a good one for operators trying to figure out where AI should actually live inside their business.

Bits and Bytes

  • A new executive order directs federal agencies to replace “Artificial Intelligence” with “Super Intelligence” in official communications. We call dibs on AutoIndustry.si! 🧠

  • Google stopped accepting some open source vulnerability reports after AI-generated junk submissions became too much to sort through. ⏸️

  • Lucid cut Q3 production 54% YOY as it deliberately slows output to better match demand. 📉

  • A robotics company staged a human-versus-humanoid cage fight in San Francisco and the state’s athletic commission promptly sent it a cease-and-desist. ❌
